The best way to start New Zealand Burr Bronze seeds is to sow them indoors in winter, and also commonly called Scarlet Pirri-Pirri, Bronze or Rosy Spined New Zealand Burr, and Scarlet Bidibid, creeping Acaena Microphylla forms a bronze-green mat of lacy foliage, featuring pinnate leaves with serrated edges and bearing unique-looking greenish flowers that mature into copper-red burrs during the summer.
New Zealand Burr Bronze is excellent as a ground cover and can be grown as a lawn substitute. Scarlet Bidibid is a popular choice for growing in rock and alpine gardens, between flagstones and wall crevices, containers, and Scarlet Pirri-Pirri is great for edging and mass planting.
