Ice Plant Gelato Bright Red Dorotheanthus Bellidiformis is a succulent, tender perennial flower native to sub deserts of South Africa. Despite being technically a perennial this flower is easy to grow from Ice Plant Gelato Bright Red seeds, and also called Livingstone Daisy and Fig Marigold Dorotheanthus Bellidiformis will flower prolifically the first year, even if the seeds are sown directly outdoors in spring after last frost. Ice Plant Gelato Bright Red grows and spreads quickly forming a dense, succulent may-like mounds of light-green foliage and blooming with small, daisy-like, bright-red flowers with dark centers in summer and fall. Ice Plant Gelato Bright Red is a wonderful addition to rock gardens and edgings, seaside gardens, containers, and border fronts. Because of its rapid growth and mound forming habit, Red Livingstone Daisy is often planted as a perennial or annual ground cover in hot dry areas. Dorotheanthus Bellidiformis seeds need light to germinate, so the seeds have to be just pressed slightly into the soil and not covered. Ice Plant Gelato Bright Reed grows best in full sun and average to poor, sandy, gravelly, dry to medium well drained soil tolerating drought and heat perfectly.
