Columbine McKana Giants Aquilegia x Hybrida is beautiful, perennial flower. Columbine McKana seeds benefit from cold treatment prior sowing, and this Columbine produces flowers that form a delicate star of outer petals surrounding an inner ring with yellow centers. Long spurs project out behind the blossoms. The Columbine McKana flowers are colored in shades of blue, lilac, yellow, pink and rose red, and the colors tend toward the pastels, so the overall effect is very bright and colorful. The bonnet-like flowers of Columbine McKana appear from late spring to mid summer above mounds of fern-like, mid-green leaves, and the hummingbirds like to visit the Columbine flowers.
Columbine McKana Giants is perfect for the middle of a sunny, moisture retentive border, but the Columbine plant is equally good for shade borders and gardens, rock gardens, perennial flower beds.
